5 Years

I would marry this man all over again if I could.
Happy 5 years to my man, my husband, best friend, and amazing father.

We are FAMILY...

and I LOVE it!
Christopher and his family moved out to Atlanta this past Spring and he happens to be back in Dallas this week for some work training.  We were so sad Kassie, Thomas and Baby Shane couldn't make the trip.   Shane is 8 days older than Addison and I am dying to get my hands on him and give that new Momma a hug... hopefully someday soon!   It was so great to get to see Christopher and introduce Addison to her uncle for the first time. The crew drove from every direction (Plano, McKinney, Temple, and Bridgeport) and met in Irving to have dinner as a family!  It has been a while since we have been together and it was a great evening.
There is nothing like good family time!

Love these two!  I cannot wait until we are all together again.
PS.  I am working on some formatting revisions to the blog, margins included.  Just go with everything being a little off ... for now.

Addie Days - 1st Month

We tried to capture all the special moments of Addison's first month on camera like her first bath...
Going on our first walk....
Lots of sleeping...
Finding her thumb which she has since lost...
Just being cute...
And meeting more wonderful people for the first time...
Great Grandmother Creed
Sweet friend...Cathy
Great Aunt Terri from South Carolina
Cousin Will
We took our first trip to Oklahoma when Addison was 2 weeks old to meet some Okies.
The Doctors... (Josh gave out that Oklahoma Construction shirt to the entire state I think!)
and...Great Grandma Carobelle Carson just to name a few.

Mother's Day and Coming Home

We got to bring Addison home on my first Mother's Day.  Talk about special!
One last family picture and an extra snuggle before heading out...
Putting her in her seat for the first time was a very serious matter and took a lot of concentrating...
That is one proud Daddy!
And we were off!

Home sweet home with our little girl.
Our world has changed...we are a family of three and feel so complete and blessed beyond measure.
As I experienced my first Mother's Day I couldn't fight away the tears of joy thinking of my own Mom and the incredible bond there is between a mother and their girls.  I am so thankful for her and the example she has shown as a Mother.  We have very amazing women in our lives and I am honored to be a part of the "club".

Room 2279

As I am working on a post of Addison's first and second months in pictures (we have SO many), I realized I needed to break it out a little bit.  Up first, our few days in the hospital before bringing Addison home.

The last full day we were there, we got a Celebration Lunch for Mom and Dad... white tablecloth and all. Josh and I had some time just the two of us while Addison was in the nursery.
We had more visitors which was so fun.  Addison thought they should get a treat for coming to see her.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Centennial, but we were ready to take our princess home!

Dedication

This past weekend was very special as we dedicated our sweet little girl at church on Saturday evening.
We pray as her parents that she will always be guided by the light of Christ.
We are so thankful for our family that shared in this special day and know they will serve as such great, Christian examples to Addison.
Our sweet, angel from heaven.
We had a small gathering at our house before the service.
I can't kiss these sweet cheeks enough!
To top off the weekend, I turned 28 on Sunday and was all kinds of spoiled.
J and I got to spend time at our pool for the first time this summer...can you tell!?
Life doesn't get much sweeter than this!

Checkup with Dr. G: 2 Months

12 lbs 8 oz (90%)
23.8 inches long (95%)

Waiting to go back.  Sleepy girl doesn't have a clue what is it about to happen.
Addison got an A+ from Dr. G.
Her hair was a bit messy after her shots but she did great!
We will be back for her 4 month check-up before we know it.

The Nursery

A little bit overdue... We had so much fun putting Addison's nursery together.  My husband and family may argue I thought about it all way too much but it turned out just the way I envisioned for our little girl. We really love it.  I have a few different things I would like to DIY and add to it but that hasn't happened yet so here it is how it looks now.  Enjoy!
Looking into the room from the entry door.  The door behind the chair is to an attached, full bath.
Love how this wall turned out!
We have loved having a twin bed in Addison's room.  The first week she was home Daddy slept in the twin bed and Mommy slept in the swivel glider (it reclines).
Love her bedding my aunt made.  The bedskirt and bumper ties are the same fabric as the ruffle.

Addison says... thanks for visiting!

Addison: 2 months Old

Addison Leigh, where did this past month go!?  You are growing so fast and changing every day.  You are healthy as can be and we could not be more thankful for you.  At 2 months you ...

  • are eating 4.5 to 5 oz every 3 to 3.5 hours during the day.
  • have teased us with a couple 7-8 hour stretches at night but usually last right around 5 hours
  • are on a pretty good schedule of  6 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm, 9 pm; with some variance of course and a middle of the night feeding usually around 3:30 am.
  • find a way out of your swaddle just about every time you are in it.  Usually your hands are the first to be free.
  • love looking around and sitting up on our shoulder
  • have a very strong neck, A+ from Dr. G
  • have found the lights on your play mat
  • LOVE the ceiling fan, on or off
  • have discovered your WubbaNub and can put the pacifier in your mouth all by yourself
  • really enjoy going on walks at night and usually fall asleep before we get home
  • love looking in the mirror but I don't think you have discovered that it is you just yet
  • have had a slumber party with Nana all by yourself and did great!
  • really love your bath
  • are wearing 0-3 month clothes, size 1 shoes, size 1 diapers
  • have two cousins that love you very much! Logan and Aiden think you are very special and are so sweet with you.

We cannot wait to see what the next month brings.  Hugs and kisses sweet girl from Mommy and Daddy.
