Daddy Love

There is no doubt Addison has a thing for her Daddy.  She lights up when he gets home from work and we try to meet him outside when we can.  I captured this on Monday and melt every time I look at it.

Addison is starting to give "hugs" and there is just nothing like it.  She will lay her head on your shoulder and squeeze your arm with her hand.  Our baby girl is getting so big and we think she is just the sweetest thing ever.
Addison, you hang on tight to your Daddy and maybe when you are 25 we can starting talking about other boys.

Top Golf

We headed to Top Golf on Sunday afternoon with the Smiths and had so much fun.  If you haven't been, you need to go.  Josh has been numerous times and I had been once just to watch but this time, we all played and it made for a wonderful afternoon.  Ash and I just might be ready for the real course sooner than later.

And... we had our caddy, Addison, with us looking mighty precious I might add.

This little one loves her Uncle Landon... and his hat.

And a totally random picture but one I love that captures our little lady's blue eyes and her first bruise from falling at school last week.  She is fearless. Picture worthy in my book.

Puppy Love

Addison is in LOVE with my sister's Westie, Kirby, and it is pretty precious.  We do not have a dog but it might be in our near future.  I don't know that I could say no to those giggles.

Special Guy

There is something so special about having a big brother and I am lucky enough to have 2!  Well, today happens to be a birthday of one of those special guys in my life.

Brandon has such a loving heart and is always there when you need him.  I have looked up to him from the moment I was brought home from the hospital.

Brandon was quite the cutie growing up...
and I thought he was extra cool.
I mean the boy had some serious style.  I think those shoes might be "Pumps". Be jealous... B's kicking shoes or my cow dress.  Take your pick.

Even once Brandon went off to college, he was never too cool for his little sisters and we enjoyed every time he came home to visit.
From Lubbock to Grapevine, Santa Fe to Temple....

we have made so many great memories.
We REALLY enjoy having Brandon close to home now.

Brandon is not only a blessing as a brother...

but also a brother-in-law to these guys (which will all hate me for this picture!).

And last but not least, he is the most amazing father to his little boys.
Happy, Happy Birthday B!  I know this next year is going to be your best yet.
We all love you to pieces, for all that you are, and I am still looking up to you to this day!

Thankful.

Thank you Lord for the beautiful weather and moments like this.

Tupperware

The doors have opened to endless possibilities of fun and hours of entertainment!

What do you see?

We find ourselves asking Addison that question a lot these days.  She is so curious to her surroundings and her favorite place to check things out is out her bedroom window.

To another day of discovery!

Hangin' Around the House

Checkup with Dr. G: 9 Months

We couldn't have asked for a better checkup today at Addison's 9-month appointment, 75-80% for both height and weight.

20 lbs 5 oz
28.3 inches

Getting a very active little girl to sit still while on top of the exam table was near impossible by myself but I tried...

Addison was not a happy camper today when she saw Dr. G.  She is really starting to be hesitant of strangers and we just don't see Dr. G enough for him to be a "friend".

After another shot and a few tears, she was out within a mile from the doctor office.
I scheduled Addison's 1-year checkup on my way out today.  Tear.  I cannot believe we met our little miracle for the first time 9 months ago.  What an amazing gift you are.

Weekend Company

Addison's Mimi and Papa came to see her over the weekend.  They hadn't squeezed those cheeks since Christmas so they were more than ready for their trip south. Needless to say, Addison got a lot of lovin'.

Addison is teething like crazy so that little tongue of hers is out quite a bit these days.  Another upper tooth broke through on Monday and there are a few more almost there.  All in all, this girl handles it all like a trooper.  I didn't even realize another one came in until her teacher pointed it out to me!

It was a little bit chilly this past weekend but that didn't stop me from bundling up Miss A and getting her outside for a few minutes.  She does not care one bit about the temperature.  She would live outside if she could.

Mimi always brings her iPad loaded with fun kid things and Addison is always mesmerized.

Bath time is always a favorite and even more fun with Mimi and Papa.

We had a wonderful weekend.  Mimi and Papa stayed at home with Addison once she went to bed Saturday night so Josh and I could have a date night.  It was very nice to go out to dinner just the two of us. This mommy has a hard time leaving our little bit since our time with her is limited with us both working full time but we need to it more often.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Addison: 9 Months

Addison Leigh, we are only three months away from your first birthday. What an amazing 9 months it has been!

At 9 months you:
  • have another tooth!  You now have 3 teeth, two on the bottom and one on the top.  You have started drooling like crazy so we think another one on top is in your near future.
  • are pulling up on everything: your activity table, walker, the ottoman, couch, your crib, closet doors - you name it, it gets you to a standing position.
  • love to stand and are getting more and more stable each and every day
  • are very set in your night time routine and know exactly what is next
  • are in bed by 7 pm and sleep for 12 hours straight
  • still struggle a bit with your naps at school but it is getting better.  You have some days where you will take two good naps of about 3 hours total and other days where you boycott sleep and get in maybe 30 minutes all day.  Those nights you are more than ready for bed and are often sound asleep by 6:30 pm.  However, you nap very well for mommy and daddy when you are home.
  • attempt to pull your bows out every now and again
  • love to be outside and love music
  • have discovered the drawers to your dresser and love to open and close them but haven't figured out there are actually things in them
  • think that crazy number we take your picture in every month is very tasty and are totally over sticking it to your belly

  • love books.  We would probably read all 50+ books you have each night if you had it your way.
  • have been introduced to formula.  You still get breast milk for your morning and night time bottle but get two 6 oz bottles of formula during the day at school.  We think we will make it another 2 weeks or so before we are out of our breast milk supply completely.  You have done very well on formula, almost as if you cannot tell the difference.  I am very thankful we made it 9 months!
  • are usually sitting up, if not standing, when we go to get you out of your crib in the morning or after a nap.
  • are a great eater.  You have a great routine down of 3 meals a day with a mid-morning and mid-afternoon bottle for a snack in between.
  • are eating all kinds of foods, mostly Stage 2 and some Stage 3 baby foods.  You have been introduced to lasagna, spaghetti, all kinds of fruit, turkey, chicken, etc. You love yogurt and your finger foods.
  • have had your first prescription, Amoxicillin, to kick a lingering sinus infection that was causing a blocked tear ducts in both eyes.
  • will take a step or two when you are standing up against your toys or the ottoman in our living room.
  • love to sit in a highchair up to the table when we go out to eat and love to drink cold water
  • are in your big car seat all of the time now
  • go from crawling/your tummy to a sitting position like it is the easiest thing in the world
  • don't mind crawling on our hardwood floors. Poor girl lives in a house with one carpeted room, your bedroom.
  • are very entertained with your diaper bag and in a room full of toys, you go to your diaper bag, flip it open and start to pull everything out one by one.
  • still have those pretty blue eyes
  • wearing just a few 9 months outfits but mainly 12 months
  • wear size 3 diapers, size 4 night timers
  • are in size 3 shoes

In one breathe I wish we could freeze frame time and keep you 9 months for a little bit longer but at the same time, we cannot wait to see what you will learn tomorrow as you grow bigger and stronger every day. We can't wait to take you to see Dr. G this week for your checkup.

I absolutely love this age! My heart melts when you crawl over to my legs and start to crawl up in a request to be held.  You are just the sweetest thing and will give "loves" by laying your head upon a shoulder when you are held as if you are giving someone a hug. Hearing you and your daddy talk on the baby monitor when I am in the other room is such a beautiful sound.  Their is nothing more magical than your constant babble.  Sweet girl, you know exactly what you are saying and we cannot wait until we can understand those sweet little "ya-ya"s, "na"s and "ba-ba"s.   You make every day a better day.  Your smile and giggles are contagious.  You are so very loved.
Happy 9 months Addison Leigh!

Baby...

.... I could just eat you up!

That is what the last page reads of Addison's favorite book, You are My Cupcake, and it is so true.  I just love every little inch of this little lady and could pinch those thunder thighs all day long.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and even better weekend.  We are celebrating 9 months on Sunday... I cannot believe it!
