Carson...Party of 4

We are so thrilled and feel so blessed to have baby #2 on the way...the miracle of life is the most amazing experience.

We are officially due June 4th and Momma feels pretty good.  These past 10 weeks or so have flown by. I think having a toddler has something to do with it.  We are 14.5 weeks along our journey and are praying for a healthy pregnancy... boy or girl... and cannot wait to meet this little love.

Arboretum Take 2

{Thank goodness for the BOB.  It handled double duty towards the end.}

{OK, this time don't smile....ha}

{Addison was officially over it!}

{Daddy was in Oklahoma for a football game so our little girl enjoyed some time with her Uncle Brandon.}

{Wrong way, Aiden, wrong way....}

 {Within seconds of snapping this picture, Addison went out the back of the TeePee which was not meant to be an exit.}

Off to the Arboretum

We officially made the Arboretum a tradition this year and went back for the second year in a row.   We loaded up, packed lunch, braved the wind, and off we went. It is so much fun for the kids and such a great place for pictures.   Yes, pumpkins were still in season.  I am playing catch-up remember!?

Here are some of my favorites from the day.  I took so many, I will have to post a second post of outtakes.
PICTURE OVERLOAD... get ready!

{LOVE this picture}

Such a fun day... we were all exhausted by the end of the afternoon but cannot wait to go back next year!

Miss Independent

Last night...
this happened.
 Sweet girl was trying so hard to help herself.  We turned for one second and she had the Cheerios box out of the pantry, upside down, and completely empty.
Cheerios anyone?
You couldn't even think about getting mad... she was trying so hard and she helped clean up.
One of those moments that you can only smile and laugh about.
We love our Miss Independent.

Vegas Vacation

Josh and I got away for a few days (over a month ago), just the two of us, and headed to Las Vegas!  Josh has been wanting to see Garth Brooks for some time and we never made it on a trip for our 5 year anniversary so .... 6+ years, an approaching 30th birthday and we were off!  3 days off work... my email turned OFF... it was heaven and to spend time just with J was so wonderful.

We got to Vegas on a Wednesday and spent that afternoon getting settled and walking the strip like your typical tourists.

We stayed at Paris Las Vegas.  Location was great.  We wouldn't choose the same hotel again just because we were really after a great night's sleep and the beds weren't our favorite but really... who goes to Vegas for sleep!  Well, working parents of an 18 month old :).  Yep, that's us.

Thursday, we checked out more of the strip, sat in on a Craps class, lost a little bit of money and then saw Jersey Boys that night.  WONDERFUL show.  We both were not sure what to expect but both really enjoyed it.

We were really looking forward to Friday, our last full day there.  We moved slow, got breakfast and our rent car and headed to Hoover Dam.  We spent the afternoon at the Nevada/Arizona state line, had lunch and went on the dam tour.  So amazing to see....
After a quick rest back at the hotel, we got "dressed up" for Garth and headed out.  Our show was at 10:30 ... 10:30!  Dinner and coffee was in order :)

  It was so worth the wait and I am so glad we got to see him.  That is one really, really talented guy.  And ... his wife, Trisha Yearwood, joined him for a few songs.  An extra fun treat!

Just Garth and a guitar.

When Saturday came, we had the best of both worlds.... the end to a great vacation and knowing we would get to see our little love that evening.

A HUGE thanks to my mom for watching Addison while were were away.  Addison had the best time with her Nana and we were so thankful she was in such great hands!

Addison: 18 Months

 1 1/2. Seriously.  I can't believe it.  Technically you are 19 months old in just two short days.  This Momma is a little late with your update this time around.  You are the sweetest 18 month old with a touch of sass. I feel like I say it every update but these past 3 months have been a big change. You are talking so much more, are that much more independent, and are all toddler.

 Here is what you are up to these days.  You ...

  • are talking all the time.  Some of your favorite words are:  ice (yes), ott (hot), dadda, momma, nana, ep (help), moe (more), cah (car), moooon (moon), cah (star, yes, sounds like car), boo boo, poo poo (yep, you say it when you go), shoo (shoe), booball (football), and .... boomah :)
  • sign both More and Please
  • know a lot of animal signs.  Some of our favorites to hear you say are your roar of a lion, oink of a pig, and meow of a cat.
  • have started singing where we can really tell you are singing.  Love it.
  • still love fruit... bananas, pineapple, apples, oranges, peaches, grapes, etc.
  • climb on everything you can
  • sleep 12 hrs at night, 2 hour nap
  • still love your books.  We will often find you in your room reading to yourself.
  • find airplanes in the sky when they are a speck... seriously, you have really good eyesight
  • love being outside
  • are such a big girl at school, carrying your lunchbox to class
  • have moved up classes and are now with 1.5 - 2.5 year old; Chipmunks
  • have crazy hair and it is getting lighter.  Makes mommy sad.

  • dance like no one else.  It is precious.  And you have started trying to jump off two feet.
  • have quite the sassy side when you don't get your way and will stomp your feet so fast back and forth while you whine

  • still get your paci when you are sleeping
  • love to play with your older cousins and do everything they are doing like you are 5
  • are really into getting dressed, wearing hats, wearing your shoes, sometimes wearing more than one shirt or your pjs over your clothes... it all goes around here.
  • don't need toys... you play with anything and everything else.
  • love opening and shutting doors and can now reach the door knob.  If we had levers, our world would be over...we are very thankful for knobs these days.
  • give the best hugs.  You hold your hands out together and open and close your fists for someone to come to you and when you hug, you will often embrace their face. It melts our heart.
  • are wearing size 5 diapers, no more night timers; wear size 6 shoes, some wide; 18 mos pants and 18mos or 24/2t tops/dresses

Miss Addison Leigh you are our world, our everything.  You are our light each and everyday and we cannot get enough of you.  We love you to the moon and back sweet girl and cannot wait to see what this journey brings next.
