The TWINS are here!

Harper Marie and Landry Elizabeth were welcomed into this world on July 12th, their Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary.   So many prayers were answered ... two tiny miracles, healthy as can be.

Landry Elizabeth was born at 1:59pm, 5 lbs 3 oz and Harper Marie at 2:00 pm, 3 lbs 3 oz.  Here is their very proud Daddy telling the "Smith fan club" of the twins arrival.

Harper Marie

I LOVE Harper's little wrinkles!

Both girls are doing great!  They remain in the NICU as their doctor would like them each to gain some weight before heading home.  They are feeding great, both off a bottle and Mommy.  They get a little enriched formula as an extra boost too.   These two little ladies are rockstars!  No IVs, no oxygen, no light therapy, just two precious gifts from God.

Ashley and Landon have been so strong throughout this entire journey. I can only imagine how hard it would be to have to go home without my babies each day.  I know they are both so anxious to get them home but remain patient as their little girls get the best of care and continue to grow stronger each and every day.

I cannot wait to hold these little ones for the first time and introduce them to their bigger cousins.  Harper and Landry - you are so, so loved.  And in case you didn't already know, you have two amazingly, awesome parents.  We cannot wait to see all that you will do in the world!

You Are My Sunshine!

You are my sunshine, sweet girl!

Freedom, Family and Fireworks!

I love the Fourth of July and look forward to it every year!  This year we hung out at home in the morning, got Miss A down for a good nap, and then headed to Brandon's for food, family and fireworks!

After some GREAT food and play time, we packed up and headed to a nearby elementary school to watch fireworks.  It was a great location and a great show!

The 3 Musketeers waiting for the show!

Addison looks a bit disheveled.  She had a fun day!

Love these three guys!

Ice cream sundaes and cake anyone while we wait!?  Yes, please!

SHOWTIME!!

Proof Luke and I were there too.  Ha!

This little guy was hardly phased.  A few jumps at a some loud pops but that was it.  Sweet boy.

A great holiday.  Sad we have to wait a whole year to do it again!

God bless the United States of America.  We are so grateful for our freedom.

Meet Gilly

Or maybe it is Gilley (Bubble Guppies anyone??) ...to Addison it is "GeeWee" and she loves it.  The Carson's officially have a pet!  Addison is so very proud of her fish and makes sure to check up on him several times a day.

Those close to me know I am just not a pet person.  I am not sure what happened to me but I didn't get that gene.  We will definitely not have any rodents or reptiles in our house like a hamster or a snake.  Josh and I both share the same opinion on cats... not happening.  The one animal that may survive in our house is a dog... just not in the immediate future.

Back to "GeeWee"... Aunt Ashley gave Addison her fish bowl when she was packing up her classroom and we had to get a fish for it of course!  The first attempt at the pet store was not successful.  Addison saw the snakes, screamed and Daddy had to exit the store to keep the peace.  I took her back a few days later, approached the entrance with one mission in mind... we just need a fish....success!

So far so good.  Gilly is now over a month old and still swimming!  Praise the Lord!

House Update: Get Done Already

It has been a bit since a house update and we are now at the point of "get done already".  We hope to close the first week of August.  They are so close to being done.  Just wrapping up some finishes, a good clean and final punch list.

I don't know what I am most excited about...the yard, a double oven!, or maybe just getting out of the apartment. All I know is we are ready!

Luke Newborn Pictures

*Side Note:  I don't recommend newborn pictures at 9 am the morning of your little ones 5th day in this world.   Addison's hair looks like she just rolled out of bed because she did.  Our first attempt to get two kids out of the house looking descent during the morning hours, shouldn't have been for pictures!  By noon, we were completely exhausted and Luke had pooped on our photographer, her dress, props and backgrounds multiple times.    Needless to say, this was a definite "what was I thinking moment".  So very thankful for a very patient photographer who didn't let our chaos show through the lens.
