Birthday Breakfast

We decided to take Addison out for breakfast on her birthday...maybe a tradition we will continue year after year. So we were off for pancakes with the birthday girl!

Destination - Main Street Bistro @ The Shops of Legacy
{cafe pictures from www.themainbakery.com}
She loved her Silver Dollar Pancakes and a little bit of Daddy's waffle and Mommy's French Toast.  This girl can eat!  I also ordered her first drink at a restaurant - kid's whole milk, please!
These were the best pictures I got at breakfast but was able to capture some of our big 1-year old afterwards.  Yep, same shirt - I washed it (twice) the night before so she could wear it again.

As soon as we got home, it was back to The Coupe. Notice the shirt... she had enjoyed breakfast and lunch at this point!

And some Super Girl fun after nap time with Daddy flying through the streamers hanging in her bedroom doorway.

Next up... getting ready for our party guests to arrive!

Addison's Birthday Morning

Josh and I could not wait for Addison to wake up on her birthday.  Josh and I got up and showered early anticipating her to wake up around 8 and that sweet girl slept until 8:45!  Obviously having no idea it was such a special day!  Needless to say, she laid eyes on her Cozy Coupe for the first time upon coming into the living room and immediately fell in love.
She has been in and out of that car probably over 100 times.  Not kidding. Best gift ever in our book.

She uses the door sometimes....

and decides she is too cool for the door other times.

And she will ride/drive however she feels like at that moment....forwards/backwards....

After opening presents up from Mommy and Daddy and a few others that were mailed from sweet friends and family....
we were off to pancakes with the birthday girl!

TuTu Cute!

Addison celebrated her birthday a day early at school last Friday with a small "celebration of life" with her class.  She wore her birthday shirt and the tutu just topped it off!

Addison: 1 Year

You're ONE!  We cannot put into words the joy you bring to our lives.  What a gift from God you are and how amazing the miracle of life is.  We laid eyes on you 365 days ago for the first time and our hearts grew an immeasurable amount.  We cannot imagine life without you.   You made us a family of three. You will always be our baby girl... our sweet Addison Leigh that made us Mommy and Daddy.  You are so, so loved.

At 1 year you:
  • are walking everywhere!  Easter weekend you just took off.
  • still have 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on bottom but are drooling like crazy so we think more are on the way
  • have moved up at school to the next classroom.  You are now in the Fawns class with 12-18 month olds.  You have 6 in your class at the most but usually are one of 4 with two teachers, Ms. N and Ms. Ashley.
  • changing classes at school also eliminated one of your naps.  You now only take one nap a day during the week usually from 11:30 to 2 pm.  You may still get 2 naps in on the weekends.
  • sleep on a nap mat at school.  Seriously.
  • are the best sleeper during the night; still in bed between 7-7:30 during the week and sleep a good 13 hours usually.

  • LOVE books and reading to yourself.
  • are talking more and more.  You know exactly what you are saying and we cannot wait to understand your little words.
  • You do say Dada, Mama, Nana, and Papa; You will point at Daddy and say Dada and point at Nana's picture on our shelf and say Nana.  This weekend you were really showing off and said Papa for the first time.
  • LOVE to dance. Usually your moves are along the lines of bopping your head side to side.  We chuckle every time and must get it on video!
  • are not a fan of the word "No".  We have had to move a few more things our of your reach, specifically your ipod dock in your bedroom.

  • have been getting 3 bottles a day for the last month; waking, 3:30 snack, and bedtime. We eliminated your 11:30 bottle and now you just have milk with lunch.  The last couple nights you are starting to push away your bedtime bottle.  I think we will try to drop that one as well.  You do not seem too interested in it.  Your morning bottle on the other hand, you look for that one and I think will be a little bit harder to break you of.
  • are on 100% Whole Milk
  • love to read/sing "Your Are My Sunshine"
  • only drink milk or water

  • play a fun alphabet game with Mommy during bath time; I say "A is for Addison, Ah..Ah..Ah" (A sounds) and you say "Ah...Ah...Ah"; we then do B and so on.
  • LOVE macaroni and cheese even more so than last month.  Bananas, yogurt, turkey, shredded chicken are also regular things in your diet.  Recently you have found a love for cantaloupe.
  • really like the dishwasher, dryer, and pantry.  We cannot turn our back for long and you are off and out of sight.
  • still love to be outside; going on walks, swinging or just hanging out

  • absolutely LOVE your cozy coupe; more on that in a later birthday post
  • wearing 12-18 month clothes, more and more 18 months
  • wear size 4 diapers
  • size 4 shoes

This has been the best year of our lives.  You are our world.  We had so much fun celebrating you this past weekend and the miracle that you are.  We cannot wait to celebrate many, many more birthdays and look forward to each and every day with you.

Addison Leigh,
"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be."

And...ACTION!

We have SO many videos of Addison and because they are a little bit of a booger to post, I don't do it as much as I would like.  So, I told myself to get over it and get with it.  Here is a little bit of what she is up to these days.

Walking...  Addison has been on the move for over a good month now and she is everywhere!

Love her to pieces!
