Footprints at Firehouse

At my first post-op appointment after having Addison, my OB gave us a gift certificate for a keepsake of Addison's footprint at a local studio called Firehouse Pottery Studio.  We finally scheduled our appointment a few weeks ago and picked up our finished product! Not only was it so thoughtful, we had such a fun time.  The studio is out of the house and the owner happens to be a mid-wife at my OB's practice.  Just something her and her husband love doing in their spare time. Addison didn't quite get what she was doing at the time but one day we can tell her all about it.
First the paint went on her foot and then she stood on the plate to make her mark.  Addison was distracted by something and didn't mind it one bit.

I am so glad Josh came along because someone had to take pictures and it was all up to Mom to decorate the plate once we had her footprint down.  I could not have done that with a baby in my arms.  I could also bounce ideas off of him which always got the response "Sure, babe." but it still counts.

And Wallah!  The final product a couple weeks later, all glazed and fired up!
It definitely isn't perfect but we love it!  It has found a home on Daddy's shelf above his desk at home.

You should seriously check them out if you are local!  They will put together everything you need to do a project at your own home.  How cool is that!?  Just pick up all the supplies from their home studio and return everything when you are finished.  They have all kinds of options that would make some great gifts.

Another great memory made.
