Addison: 6 months

Miss Addison Leigh, you are 6 months now and getting so big.  There are so many things about you and this stage of your life that I do not want to ever forget.  I want to always remember rocking you to sleep and the extra deep breath you take that tells me you are fast asleep and ready for your crib.  I don't ever want to forget the smile on your sweet little face when you see me or Daddy for the first time at the end of your school day.  And those chubby cheeks.  I cannot get enough.  I want to remember your giggles when we tickle you and all of your sweet little rolls.  Your smell after getting your bath.  All of your sweet sounds hold a special place in my heart.  We love hearing you talk in the car.  I want to remember hearing you play with your Daddy from the other room or reading books with your Daddy in the evenings.  I want to remember how you always look for the same few toys while you take your bath.  And that precious grin when you realize we heard your little toot.   I will always remember how excited you get at the first sight of your bottle and how you work so hard to hold it all by yourself.

I will never forget how grateful we are that the Lord chose us to be your parents.  You melt our heart in so many ways each and every day.  This past 6 months have been the absolute best and we cannot wait to see what the next 6 months bring.

At 6 months you:
  • have cut another tooth!  You now have your bottom two, middle teeth cut through.
  • still put everything in your mouth
  • roll EVERYWHERE.  You manage to go from one side of the room to the other in a matter of minutes.
  • LOVE your feet, socks, shoes
  • sit up all by yourself so well; you are very strong
  • are starting to army crawl a little bit and work so hard to reach for things out of your immediate reach; your efforts to get up on your knees result in moving yourself backwards.
  • are eating solid foods!  In addition to 3 tablespoons of cereal, you are now getting fruit for breakfast, a veggie for lunch and an assortment for dinner.  We are slowly introducing you to new foods every few days.
  • have eliminated a bottle and now only get 4 feedings a day instead of 5; breast milk only
  • are being introduced to a sippy cup and water during meal time
  • still have those pretty blue eyes and all that hair
  • had your first hair trim
  • are in bed by 7:30 and more often than not, I have to wake you at 7:15 am to start your day
  • are so curious to your surroundings and love to be outside; Ms. Memaw at school says you are very inquisitive
  • play by yourself very well
  • love it when people clap their hands
  • put yourself to sleep at night.  I lay you in your crib wide awake after your bottle and you soothe yourself to sleep within minutes.  My mommy heart is sad and happy at the same time!
  • are really such a wonderful baby
  • starting to recognize your name
  • wearing size 3 diapers
  • are wearing 6-9 months clothes (6-12) in some brands
  • wear size 2-3 shoes
