Addison: 9 Months

Addison Leigh, we are only three months away from your first birthday. What an amazing 9 months it has been!

At 9 months you:
  • have another tooth!  You now have 3 teeth, two on the bottom and one on the top.  You have started drooling like crazy so we think another one on top is in your near future.
  • are pulling up on everything: your activity table, walker, the ottoman, couch, your crib, closet doors - you name it, it gets you to a standing position.
  • love to stand and are getting more and more stable each and every day
  • are very set in your night time routine and know exactly what is next
  • are in bed by 7 pm and sleep for 12 hours straight
  • still struggle a bit with your naps at school but it is getting better.  You have some days where you will take two good naps of about 3 hours total and other days where you boycott sleep and get in maybe 30 minutes all day.  Those nights you are more than ready for bed and are often sound asleep by 6:30 pm.  However, you nap very well for mommy and daddy when you are home.
  • attempt to pull your bows out every now and again
  • love to be outside and love music
  • have discovered the drawers to your dresser and love to open and close them but haven't figured out there are actually things in them
  • think that crazy number we take your picture in every month is very tasty and are totally over sticking it to your belly

  • love books.  We would probably read all 50+ books you have each night if you had it your way.
  • have been introduced to formula.  You still get breast milk for your morning and night time bottle but get two 6 oz bottles of formula during the day at school.  We think we will make it another 2 weeks or so before we are out of our breast milk supply completely.  You have done very well on formula, almost as if you cannot tell the difference.  I am very thankful we made it 9 months!
  • are usually sitting up, if not standing, when we go to get you out of your crib in the morning or after a nap.
  • are a great eater.  You have a great routine down of 3 meals a day with a mid-morning and mid-afternoon bottle for a snack in between.
  • are eating all kinds of foods, mostly Stage 2 and some Stage 3 baby foods.  You have been introduced to lasagna, spaghetti, all kinds of fruit, turkey, chicken, etc. You love yogurt and your finger foods.
  • have had your first prescription, Amoxicillin, to kick a lingering sinus infection that was causing a blocked tear ducts in both eyes.
  • will take a step or two when you are standing up against your toys or the ottoman in our living room.
  • love to sit in a highchair up to the table when we go out to eat and love to drink cold water
  • are in your big car seat all of the time now
  • go from crawling/your tummy to a sitting position like it is the easiest thing in the world
  • don't mind crawling on our hardwood floors. Poor girl lives in a house with one carpeted room, your bedroom.
  • are very entertained with your diaper bag and in a room full of toys, you go to your diaper bag, flip it open and start to pull everything out one by one.
  • still have those pretty blue eyes
  • wearing just a few 9 months outfits but mainly 12 months
  • wear size 3 diapers, size 4 night timers
  • are in size 3 shoes

In one breathe I wish we could freeze frame time and keep you 9 months for a little bit longer but at the same time, we cannot wait to see what you will learn tomorrow as you grow bigger and stronger every day. We can't wait to take you to see Dr. G this week for your checkup.

I absolutely love this age! My heart melts when you crawl over to my legs and start to crawl up in a request to be held.  You are just the sweetest thing and will give "loves" by laying your head upon a shoulder when you are held as if you are giving someone a hug. Hearing you and your daddy talk on the baby monitor when I am in the other room is such a beautiful sound.  Their is nothing more magical than your constant babble.  Sweet girl, you know exactly what you are saying and we cannot wait until we can understand those sweet little "ya-ya"s, "na"s and "ba-ba"s.   You make every day a better day.  Your smile and giggles are contagious.  You are so very loved.
Happy 9 months Addison Leigh!
